He was is cute child in the first book, but then becomes a major character as an adult in the remaining books.
Adult Roger is very tall, almost as tall as Jamie. He meets Frank and Claire Randall as a child, but then later meets Bree when Claire brings Bree back to Scotland to find out what happened to Jamie's men after Culloden, and asks for Roger's help. Roger is at his adoptive father Reverend Wakefield's house trying to sort through the horde of papers and such that Rev. Wakefield left behind when he passed away.
Bree and Roger hit it off right from the start. Together, Roger, Claire and Bree discover some surprising information that eventually leads them on some unexpected journeys.
Roger has a wonderful singing voice, and sings and plays instruments for the public. He's a professor of History at Oxford University, a sailor, a minister, a father, and a really nice guy in spite of some horrible things that happen to him along the way.
