Ned Gowan is a lawyer who first shows up in the Outlander story in S01-E05 Rent episode. He is "older than he looks", has asthma, and likes adventure. He DOESN'T like collecting rent payments involving pigs and goats. He's a romatic at heart, and likes poetry, quoting John Dunne. In episode S01-E07 The Wedding, Ned composed the marriage contract between Jamie and Claire to protect Claire from Black Jack. He also procured Claire's wedding dress (although not in the book). BOOKS=3 He shows up much later in Book 3, Voyager representing Jamie's second wife in the dissolution of their brief marriage after Claire's return.
