In S01-E03 Episode The Way Out, Gwyllyn the Bard plays a harp and sings in the main hall. The song, "I am a woman of Balmain", told the story of a woman traveling through time through standing stones, in Gaelic. Jamie translated the story for Claire, who was VERY interested to learn that the woman traveled back to her own time to the man she loved. This gave her hope that she too could return to her husband Frank. Evidently Colum is wealthy enough to have his own bard to entertain his clan.
